After shoe trader, teacher kidnapped

TURA, JUNE 30:  A teacher of Dalu Higher Secondary School has been kidnapped at gun point by suspected militants just a day after a shoe trader had been kidnapped. The teacher was kidnapped from near the Karengre Lali temple, which is just about 20 kilometers away from the place of Sunday’s kidnapping.

The teacher, whose name is being withheld, was returning to school from Tura on Monday morning in a hired auto along with two other passengers when the auto he was travelling was stopped by armed men at about 7 am.

It is learnt that the armed men who are suspected to be militants began questioning the three passengers about their professions and then decided to kidnapped  the  teacher while letting the two others off.

Besides teaching in Dalu Higher Secondary School, the teacher is also a resident of the village.  The place from where the teacher was kidnapped falls under the jurisdiction of the Dalu police station. However, there has been no  confirmation whether an FIR has been filed by the family of the kidnapped teacher.- By Our Reporter
