Another trader kidnapped

TURA, JULY 7: Another trader was kidnapped at gun point by unidentified gunmen from near the Dalu on Saturday when he was returning home from bazaar after collecting cashew bags from his employee.The abduction took place in Pushinagre, about 75 kms from Tura. He was abducted on Saturday late afternoon by unidentified gunmen who are suspected to be militants.  The area falls under the Dalu police station close to the border town of Purakhasia. The trader hails from Mankachar in the Dhubri district of Assam.

A high police officer said, “We have not received any FIR from the family and there was no mention of the abduction. It was only through our sources that we came to know of the abduction and have launched combing operations.” – From Our Correspondent
