SHILLONG, DEC 5: The A’chik National Volunteer Council -B(ANVC-B) militant Mithun M Sangma was nabbed by the security forces for his alleged involvement in extortion activities in coal-rich areas of South West Khasi hills district. A joint operation was conducted by the BSF and the district police in Borsora and Lailad area which they arrested Sangma (27) on Thursday.
The BSF Sangma confessed that he was entrusted the responsibility of collecting the extorted money in Barsora and Lailat area. BSF said that Sangma has undergone arm training for one month along with some other cadres somewhere in Balpakram forest in South Garo Hills in the month of January 2013.
According to the BSF putting up for four months in Garo Hills, Sangma came to Barsora area and since then is operating in different coalmines of South West Khasi Hills district.- By Our Reporter
