ANVC(B): Members missing

SHILLONG, JAN 2: The ANVC (B), which has been accusing the police of arresting its cadres on several occasion, alleged on Thursday that three of its cadres including two women vanished while they were coming back to the camp after shopping for the new year’s feast.

ANVC-B leader Doang Shira alleged that three ANVC(B) members did not come back to the camp on New year eve. He said that the outfit  is yet to ascertain how many might have gone missing between Christmas and New Year as group is unable to make any contacts for fear of being targeted..

“Our cadres were targeted by police when they visited home for Christmas and now some of them have disappeared as we are holed up in our camp which is far beyond any legal standpoint, ”Shira said

Shira  even alleged that t their cadre Dingdo was chased by two pulsar bikes and one Maruti car which belonged to the ANVC cadres and the incident took place between Youth Hostel and the ANVC(B) camp at Edenbari which is isolated and has bad road.

After crossing the Youth Hostel Dingdo was asked by one of ANVC members to stop but he escaped to tell the story by climbing a steep hill, Shira claimed.

The ANVC(B)  alleged it has inputs of ANVC’s being encouraged by the government to secretly eliminate ANVC(B) including its chairman as the draft of the agreement between the state ,central governments and both the faction of ANVC  was signed by Rimpu and not by Dilash which makes the  ANVC(B) role in the entire settlement more prominent.

Shira said that hunting down of the ANVC(B) members and attempts to implicate them clearly indicates that some one wants to get the credit and benefits of the peace settlement. He also said that attempts to push away the ANVC(B ) from the tripartite agreement is unfair and  government and ANVC must stop such acts of desperation.- By Our Reporter
