SHILLONG, DEC 17: Two persons identified as Fairlock Ryngskai (26) of Umpling and Banteipat Kharnari (32) of Laitumkhrah Boyce road were arrested by police for assaulting electricians and snatched away decorative lights from them at Laitumkhrah on Tuesday night.
The incident took place at around 7 pm, when a group of youths came to Laitumkhrah near Yalana Hotel assaulted the electricians who were putting up decorating lights put up by Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum (MTDF) in Shillong city and stole away some of the lights, police said.
Police swung into action after they were informed about the incident and arrested the two and also recovered the stolen lights. – By Our Reporter
