SHILLONG, MAR 13: Stuck in the Raj Bhavan, the All Regional Parties Alliance (ARPA) chairman and Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) chief executive member Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit got the list of his Executive Members (EMs) approved by Governor KK Paul on Thursday.
The list of EMs of KHADC was submitted by Basaiawmoit last week immediately after the election of the KHADC chairperson. However as the list have to get the assent of the Governor, Basaiawmoit could not form his Executive Committee (EC).
To expedite the formation of the EC, Basaiawmoit led a delegation and met Paul on Thursday evening. He immediately got the EM list approved by Paul.
After meeting Paul, Basaiawmoit told reporters, “The list of EMs was approved by the Governor today and the portfolios will be distributed to the EMs on Friday.”
The ARPA is a coalition of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), United Democratic Party (UDP), and the Khun Hynniewtrep National People’s Party (KHNAM). The coalition has formed the new Executive Committee in KHADC.
The post of EMs are equally shared among the three regional parties, while the ARPA has allotted the post of the deputy chief executive member to the UDP besides three EMs, three EMs each have been allotted for the HSPDP and KHNAM.-By Our Reporter
