SHILLONG, JAN 4: A local court on Wednesday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the absconding Independent Mawhati legislator Julius Dorphang for sexually exploiting a minor girl, who was rescued from a city guest belonging to the son of home minister HDR Lyngdoh.

Confirming the arrest warrant, East Khasi hills SP M Kharkrang said, “The court has issued a warrant of arrest for Dorphang.”

The legislator, who is supporting the ruling Congress led state government, was named in one of the FIRs filed by the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) based on the statement of minor victim.

Kharkrang informed the police are still conducting a search on the whereabouts of the MLA.

Dorphang is a former chairman of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) before he was elected from Mawhati constituency.

He has been booked under section 366 (A) of the IPC and registered with section 3 (a)/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) and under section 5 of the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act (ITPA).

The minor girl, who was rescued from a guest house, had she escaped from the clutch of the pimps.

    Firstly arrest d supplier den d dealer n if d customers has d guts 2 buy it den wats d problem in dat.
    The arising questioner shud go deep instead dey shud go deep 4 dat things n shud luk on der quality background back n forth as a matter of fact I mithun will u NGO n all dose against party blaming against the said culprit will u stop n look itself backward against d mirror huh
