TURA, MAY 27: Two days after the arrest of ASAK finance secretary, the West Garo hills police had another encounter with militants from the same group on Monday midnight. The police and the militants exchange fire with around six militants injuring one of the ASAK ultras.
The incident took place near a village called Rangmanpara, near Dalu, about 55 kms from Tura town. Police said the ASAK militants led by one Goira. The injured militant has been identified as Rongma Marak. He shot at in the leg and was taken to the Purakhasia hospital. He has been referred to the Tura Civil Hospital.
The police team recovered one GNLA ID with ASAK stamp, one browning 9 mm pistol, one walkie talkie and a mobile phone from his possession.- By Our Reporter
