Bangla dacoits shoot villager

SHILLONG, DEC 3: One person sustained bullet injury when a group of dacoits from Bangladesh opened fire at villagers at Gasuapara in South Garo hills district on Wednesday, police said. Before firing, the dacoits attempted to kidnap one person.

Police said when the victim raised an alarm the villagers came to his rescue and the dacoits fled away after firing at the villagers injuring one of them on the leg. The IG BSF, Shillong has been informed about the developments on Indo-Bangladesh border and requested to take necessary remedial measures, police said.- By Our Reporter
