SHILLONG, SEPT 26: The BJP West Shillong Mandal Committee today appreciated the stand taken by the Synjuk Ki Dorbar Shnong of West Shillong that political parties should desist from any sort of forceful campaign.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, BJP mandal committee president Sonny Khyriem said, “To such initiative, the Mandal Committee of the party salutes and expressed sincere appreciation.”
He said the recent and unpleasant incidents within the constituency are indicative to the great depths of despair that politics in the state have descended.
“We request the people of the constituency in particular and the state in general to be aware of confusing comments, intimidations and actions,” Khyriem said.
According to him, the BJP believes participating in elections are to be based on individual party’s ideologies and principles and does not manifest in hatred, abusive behavior and slander intensions.
Meanwhile, the West Shillong BJP Mandal Committee also extends heartiest greetings on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja 2017 to everyone.
It at the same time also wishes all the Muslim brethrens in advance happy Muharram, which will be celebrated all over on the October 1.
