BJYM: Replace DGP

SHILLONG, JUNE 8: Demanding the removal of the state DGP PJP Hanaman, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) blamed the failure of the state’s intelligence department regarding the recent gruesome killing of a mother by a militant outfit in South Garo hills district.

BJYM general secretary Phermanbha War said in a statement on Sunday, “The incident clearly proves the failure of the state intelligence department. The police machinery failed to get the information about the movement of such miscreants.”

War informed that the state executive meeting of the BJYM held on Saturday also demands that the state government pay Rs 20 lakh to family of the victim as compensation.

“Government should ensure free education up to whatever standard the children of the victim study,” War said while demanding the replacement of Hanaman by what he said a better and efficient senior IPS officer.

The BJYM further urged the state government to provide adequate security to the common men in the state especially in the five districts of the militancy infested Garo hills region.- By Our Reporter
