BSF arrests mason with explosives

SHILLONG, APR 20: A mason was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) with huge cache of explosives from the Indo-Bangla International border in South West Khasi Hills District on Sunday.

The BSF who were patrolling along the internal border apprehended Pradip K Polin (35) while he was moving on a motocycle (ML05J-6810) in a suspicious manner, BSF officials said.

The BSF stopped and on searching him they found six detonators, six dorica gillatine type Indian explosive of 25 mm size and 125 gm weight ad eleven safety fuse from his possession.

Polin, a resident of Munai village near Ranikor, is working as a mason in a bridge construction company. He along with the seized items was later handed over to the police for necessary action.

In another incident, one muzzle loaded single barrel gun was also recovered on Sunday by the BSF from Umkiang area in East Jaintia hills district.- By Our Reporter
