BSF seize explosive

SHILLONG, JUNE 30: BSF seized explosives near the international border at Bholaganj in East Khasi hills on Wednesday night when a miscreant left a bag after being pursued the border guards.

The person carrying the bag on his back fled towards vegetated area taking advantage of darkness and managed to flee leaving behind the bag when he was pursued by the BSF.

BSF seized the bag and after a search 30 packets of Neogel explosive (class-II) was recovered.

BSF officials said that this explosive has been manufactured in SBL energy Ltd, Yenvera, in Nagpur district in Maharashtra. Though such explosive is used in mining purpose in Meghalaya, but its pilferage can be potential threat to security forces if it reaches the hand of insurgent groups.-By Our Reporter
