Burned body of unidentified person recovered from Marten

A body of an unidentified person has been recovered from the debris of the garbage at Marten on Tuesday evening.

The recovery was made by the search and rescue team headed by SDRF after a ragpicker was reportedly gone missing and was feared to have been buried by the garbage.

“At 4:45 pm today, the body of an unidentified person was located among the debris of garbage at Marten by SDRF, SMB, garbage collectors etc,” an official involved in overseeing the operation said.

He informed that the SDRF immediately called the police for necessary actions.

Asked, the official said that the body was badly burnt.

“We can only confirm that a body has been found. However, we cannot confirm whose body it is. It is badly burnt,” he added.
