SHILLONG, DEC 15: Meghalaya cabinet on Tuesday proposed the name of senior Additional Advocate General (AAG) Dr BP Todi as the new Advocate General (AG) of the state. The decision was taken after the incumbent Advocate General KS Kynjing tendered his resignation from the post on December 7.

“We have decided to appoint Dr BP Todi, a senior AAG, as the new Advocate General,” chief minister Mukul Sangma told reporters at the sideline of a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. He informed, “A notification to this effect will be issued immediately this evening.”

According to the chief minister, the name of Dr Todi was also proposed after the state government had sent the former AG’s letter of resignation for acceptance to the Meghalaya Governor V Shanmuganathan.- By Our Reporter
