Career guidance inaugurated

SHILLONG, OCT 17: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma, launched the Career Guidance Scheme for students by inaugurating the career counselling centre in Ampati Govt Higher Secondary School on Thursday. This counselling centre is equipped with comprehensive  Career Pathfinder Charts for different careers such as medical, engineering, management, law, mass media, sports, teaching, agriculture, defence and paramilitary, agriculture and allied, tourism, sports etc along with books and magazines for different competitive exams.

The centre also has ICT material and will have internet connectivity to enable students to have up-to-date knowledge about emerging careers in public, private sector and entrepreneurship.

Sangma also distributed PC Tablets to the 385 students of class 12th of South West Garo Hills under Students Digital Learning Aid scheme during a separate function organised in Ampati Mini Stadium.

Defying the bandh people along with students of all parts of the district attended this ceremony. Special logistic arrangements were done to ferry students from all parts of district such as Babelapara, Mahendraganj, Kalaichar, Zikzak, Kalaichar, Garobadha to Ampati Mini Stadium to witness this ceremony and career guidance exhibition.

Sports and Youth Afairs Mr. Zenith Sangma also was present and motivated the youth during these ceremonies.- By Our Reporter
