SHILLONG, MAY 21: In what appears to be a breather for the aggrieved students of the controversial CMJ University, the Meghalaya government has offered to accommodate them in other educational institutes but the non-availability of the students’ data of this institute is proving to be the only bottleneck in fulfilling the promise.
It may be reminded that the computers of the CMJ University that contains data had been vandalized.
The government’s willingness to accommodate the students of the CMJ University that has been closed was conveyed to a joint students delegation of the KSU and the CMJ University Students Union on Tuesday when they met Pariat.
The CMJ University students had recently appealed to the Meghalaya government to find a way out in ensuring that their studies are not hampered because of the closure of the university after it was found that it was issuing certificates that are not recognized by any authorities. The university Chancellor Chandra Mohan Jha has gone underground after the CID took over the investigation into the fraud indulged in by this private university.
KSU education cell secretary Donald Thabah told reporters after the meeting that even as the delegation has asked the government to expedite the process of accommodating the students of the CMJ University in other institute, it has also given suggestion that the students’ data can be gleaned from the registrar and deputy registrar who have been arrested by the CID.
The students’ delegation also requested the Pariat to direct the CID to help the government to abstract the data. Pariat, it learnt, did not give any commitment.
The students’ bodies also asked the government to pressurize the CMJ University to reimburse fees to all the students who were studying in the university as they had paid a huge amount in paying the fees.- By Our Reporter

These universities are filled with fake university approved staffs and the cong. Govt supports as these ministers are having numerous colleges. Here university has been fingered making its students restless and helpless. Do cruel with this type of step motherly treatment. Funny very funny….
