SHILLONG, AUG 5: Congress MDC from Naguapara constituency Dhormonat Ch Sangma has recently joined the National People’s Party (NPP), the party heading the executive committee in Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC). In his letter addressed to NPP national president Conrad K Sangma on August 2, Dhormonat had cited that he has decided to join the party on personal grounds.
Dhormonat also submitted a letter of unconditional and irrevocable support to the GHPA, an alliance led by NPP at the GHADC to the GHADC chairman Boston Marak.
In a statement issued on Friday, NPP spokesperson James K Sangma said, “The NPP is happy to welcome Dhormonat Ch Sangma to the party and the GHPA with the firm belief that his joining the NPP will usher in growth and stability in Garo hills.”-By Our Reporter
