SHILLONG, OCT 16: Just out of jail, two contract killers were again arrested along with arms from a village in West Jaintia Hills district before they could execute their proposed assignment which is yet to be revealed by the police.

Acting on intelligence tip off, police from the special cell launched an operation and arrested the two accused.

The two contractor killers identified as Deimon Dhar (28) and Thomas Jones Ryngkhlem (27) were arrested by the special cell of the district police from a house-cum-liquor shop owned by one H Rymbai at Mookabeng village, West Jaintia hills SP Herbert G Lyngdoh said here.

One 7.65 pistol, 2 magazine, 6 rounds ammunition were seized from Dhar and .22 pistol, a magazine with 15 rounds ammunition were seized from Thomas Jones, Lyngdoh said.  According to him, both were booked under Arms Act for illegally possession of arms.

Dhar and Ryngkhlem were categories  as contract killers by the police after they were arrested last year for murder case in Kyndong Tuber village in which two church  elders from Myntriang village were executed by them after getting contract to kill.

“They were recently let off from jail in connection with Kyndong Tuber murder case,” Lyngdoh said adding the initiative taken by the police is to keep track on the accused to ensure that future crimes can be prevented.

Lyngdoh also informed that the police are still investigating as to who is supplying arms to these killers and who would have been the targets of the weapons they had with them– By Our Reporter
