SHILLONG, FEB 15: The Madras high court has directed the medical authority of the state to provide medical treatment to the twenty children who were allegedly taken away from Meghalaya and lodged in the Narendra Nambikkai Natchathiram home in Krishnagiri.
The court order on Friday came after the Madras high court session judge had inspected the home where the children were staying and directed the Joint/Deputy Director of Medical Services and the Superintendent of government hospital, Krishnagiri, to give treatment to the children.
The sessions judge who inspected the home where the children were staying reported that some of the students were found to be sick.
On January 30 this year , the Madras high court had directed the sessions judge Mahalir Neethimandram, to inspect the ngo Narendra Nambikkai Natchathiram home where the 20 children from Meghalaya were made to stay and accordingly file a report.
The session judge who inspected the home reported that some of the students were found sick and had instructed the director of the orphanage and the sub-collector to provide necessary medical assistance.
The 20 minor girls in the age group of 8-13 years from Pynursla and Jowai were taken to the Sri Anusuya Dei Free Hostel run by the Sri Nevidita Seva Trust at Hosur in Tamil Nadu by an ngo called Lei-Synshar Cultural Society led by its president Barberar Khonglam and general secretary Puramon Kynjing for providing free education.- By Our Reporter
