SHILLONG, NOV 17: The Civil Society Womens’ Organization (CSWO) president Agnes Kharshiing condemns the act of arson and also attack on human being calling it a cowardly act indulged by anti-social elements.
Kharshiing urged the police department to get the real culprits involved in the petrol bomb throwing incident as she said it appear to be personal vendettas as the perpetrators of such crimes were very selective.
In a press statement issued on Sunday Kharshiing said, “The police being real investigators should know and apply their investigative skill as the society does not want such hooliganism which harms human life to go scot free.”
Kharshiing felt that the police attempt to blame the pro- ILP groups for such inhumane attacks show of poor policing and the home department should bring in good officers and personnel who will do their work without political interference so as to find out who and why is someone trying to take advantage of the agitation of the ngos who are demanding implementation of the ILP in the State.
Kharshiing said the demand for ILP is constitutional and legitimate but she said, “It seems someone is trying to distort the ILP demand by indulging in all these dastardly acts of terrorism.”- By Our Reporter
