Das shifted to Guwahati

SHILLONG, NOV 17: The tea stall owner Bisheshwar Das who sustained fifty  percent burnt injuries after a miscreants entered his shop, pour petrol and set him on fire was shifted to NEMCARE hospital, Guwahati Sunday afternoon, a senior police official informed.

.Das was discharged from Woodland hospital, Shillong at around 2.45 pm on Sunday.

The decision to shift the victim to Guwahati’s hospital was taken after a meeting held between state health minister AL Hek with the doctors from the health department and Woodland hospital.

The government decided to send the patient (Das) to NEMCARE hospital, Guwahati after his family members accepted the offer, sources closed to Hek said.

Earlier, the Hek accompanied by MPCC general secretary Sanjay Das and other members visited the victim at Woodland Hospital.

Soon after reaching the hospital Hek  held a meeting with panel of doctors of the health department along with the doctors of Woodland hospital and decided to send the patient to NEMCARE hospital, Guwahati, with the consent of the victim’s family.

Meanwhile police are yet to make any arrest of the culprits responsible for the crime.

East Khasi hills districtSP M Kharkhrang said, “We are yet to identify the three people behind the attacked and are working overtime to ensure that the culprits involved in the attack are nab immediately.”

The Shillong City Congress Committee (SCCC) strongly condemns the petrol bomb attack and on Das in Bishnupur on Saturday  and the attack as “inhuman”.- By Our Reporter
