SHILLONG, JAN 13: Defense authority have closed the footpaths from Anjalee complex to Butcher road, Pine Walk Area to Butcher road (near Bawri Netralaya) and from Pine Walk Area to Police Bazaar.
A defense release on Wednesday said that the steps are being taken to restrict movement through the defence areas in the wake of the Pathankot attack and also incidents like the recent blast and various reported cases of theft within the cantonment areas.
The release said that the army authorities regret inconvenience caused to pedestrians; but informed that the decision was taken in view of the security situation and larger interest and, therefore, all are requested to cooperate.-By Our Reporter
