SHILLONG, FEB 7: As Martin Luther Christian University starts its spring semester for 2017, the University on Tuesday organised the first combined devotion meet for all its faculty and students in the university campus.

The devotion started with praise and worship team from the department of Fine Arts and department of Management and Commerce Studies, leading the congregation into the service with hymns and devotional songs.

The head of department of Peace and Christian Studies, Rev. Dr. Elungkiebe Zeliang, gave the exhortation on the key to success which was based on the bible verse from Proverbs 16:1-3, “The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits. Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.”

Rev. Zeliang encouraged the students, faculty and non-teaching staff alike to commit our plans and our work to the Lord and let him grant our desires. He added that all the plans and ideas that we have for our new semester and also for the betterment of our institution the university as a whole will have to commit to the way of the Lord and let Him guide the university in its chosen path.

After the message by Rev. Zeliang, the students from the department of Fine Arts initiated a game where teams had to learn a Bible verse and repeat it each other.

A special song was also performed by the students of BSc 4th, Department of Allied Health Sciences.
