Explosives recovered

SHILLONG, AUG 10: The BSF on Thursday arrested one Bangladeshi with electric detonators and gelatine (Neogel) explosive from Khaliang, West  Jaintia hills district.

The Bangladeshi has been identified as Md Ali (24). He was arrested while he was ex-filtrating from India to Bangladesh along with three electric detonators and three gelatine

During interrogation, Ali said that he was labourer at stone quarries of Khliehriat and  on eve of EID he was returning home.

He also revealed that  one labourer in-charge Juned of Ladrymbai  gave  him  the explosives to handover it  to one Adul Khadir of Sylhet, Bangladesh.

Based on the confession, BSF and Meghalaya police launched  a joint operations in coal mine area of Umsung under Khliehriat police station and arrested three more Bangladeshis along with two Indians.

The arrested persons have been identified as  Md Samsoddin, Md Abdul Jonaed, Md Alinoor, Md Abdin and Md Eqramul

The BSF and state police also recovered twenty five detonators and seventeen explosives from their possession.

The arrested persons and seized items has been handed over to the police for further action.- By Our Reporter
