Fact finding ministerial team leaves for Maharashtra

Shillong, August 25:Satisfied with the security of the students and working class of the State in Karnataka, the Meghalaya ministerial fact finding team consisting of AT Mondal, Ampareen Lyngdoh and AL Hek left for Maharashtra Saturday evening.

Speaking to reporters over phone urban affairs minister Ampareen Lyngdoh informed that the students studying in Karnataka   have decided not to return home after they were reassured of their security and safety by the Karnataka government.

Lyngdoh said, “We have interacted with our students’ community from Meghalaya and they have decided to cancel their proposed journey to return home after they were convinced of the security arrangements.

The ministerial team met student community from Meghalaya and informed them about Karnataka government’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of students from north eastern states.

On Friday, the three-member ministerial delegation called on Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home R Ashok and  expressed their gratitude to the Karnataka government for their sincere efforts in providing security to the North East people including those from Meghalaya residing in that state.- By Our Reporter
