Arrested for teenage murder

TURA,SEPT 8: Meghalaya police on Thursday arrested four persons in connection with abduction and murder of a teenager from Kherapara village of West Garo hills. The body of the teenager was recovered today. Last week, the teenager was abducted from Kherapara, near Dalu, about 28 km from Tura and killed even after the family paid ransom to the gang.

“We have arrested four persons, who have admitted their involvement in the abduction and murder”, said Mukesh Singh, superintendent of police, West Garo Hills.

The teenager was a son of butcher, who runs his trade in different weekly markets of Garo hills.

“We have recovered part of the ransom money paid by the relatives to the abductor”, the SP added.

The accused has been identified as – Tengrak Marak, 25 of Ganipara village, Emil Marak, 24 of Rongbetgre village, Galsengbath Marak, 19 of Surunangre village and Kristone Sangma, 20 of Wakolnangre village.-From Our Correspondent
