SHILLONG, AUG 27: The West Garo hills police arrested four GNLA cadres from the Tetengkol area in Tura on Monday. The four were in Tura to serve demand notes and collect ransom but were arrested in the evening.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shilpa A Sangma, alias Gotak (23 years of age from Rongram)under the command of Philliport, Batush B Marak alias Gilsang (age 23 of Purakhasia) under the command of Jimmy, Rohen Sangma, and Penaji D Sangma.
The police recovered one 9mm pistol, 2 magazines, 8 live rounds and mobile phones. The police also recovered demand notes and rubber stamps. Apparently, they were sent from various commands to serve demand notes around the Tura and Rongram areas. The police arrested them after receiving intelligence inputs.-By Our Reporter
