SHILLONG, APR 22: A member of the Lumlang Hashah gang, which is indulges in extortion in South West Khasi hills district surrendered before the police on Friday.
Entli Nongbri of Kulang village surrendered before the district SP Herbert G Lyngdoh, police said. Police informed that Nongbri has also deposited one 7.65 pistol and four live ammunitions.
According to police, Hashah was an ex-member of the Achik National Volunteer Council (ANVC) which was disbanded two years ago.
Police informed that the gang has been indulging in criminal activities such as extortion from businessman of the region. Operations are on to nab the other members of the gang.-By Our Reporter
