TURA, JUNE 1: Williamnagar Government College (Group) bagged the first prize  in the Garo Hills Dance Competition 2016 organised by Salgra Event Management and Entertainment Group at Williamnagar in East Garo Hills on Tuesday evening.

Rakjring R. Marak from Mendipathar in North Garo hills and Made to Move (M2M group) of Williamnagar bagged the second and third prize respectively.

Meghalaya social welfare minister Deborah Marak gave away the prizes for the winners.

A total of 39 contestants took part in the competition, which was witnessed by over 10000 people. “I am overjoyed to see the youths of Garo hills perform like Hollywood and Bollywood stars”, Marak said.

She encouraged the talented youths to carry on and take part in bigger platforms. Noted choreographer from Assam Suresh Medhi, Raju and Helyna Sangma from Shillong judged the competition.-From Our Correspondent
