SHILLONG, FEB 20: The Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department has informed that February 27, has declared as a general holiday in the whole of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, West Jaintia and East Jaintia Hills Districts on account of the general Elections 2019 to the two Autonomous District Councils in the State i.e. the Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Councils.
Employees working in the Garo Hills who are the electors under the Constituencies of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Councils and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Councils shall be granted Special Leave.
Industrial undertaking or any of the establishment governed by N.I.Act, 1881, shops and those which work on the shift basis, a daily wage, Casual worker including those working outside the Constituencies shall be entitled to the benefit of paid holiday as provided in Section 132 (2) (b).
