GNLA aides held

SHILLONG, JAN 20: Four aides of the proscribed Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) were arrested from the Polo area here on Saturday evening. An Alto car, a mobike and six mobile phones with 20 SIM cards were seized from them.

Police said they were arrested after they were found moving around in a suspicious manner at Polo around 6 p.m. They, the police said, were working for Jack Marak, a self-styled area commander of the outfit’s West Khasi Hills district unit, and were apparently on a holiday. The quartet were quarter was produced in a city court which remanded them to 10 days police custody.

The arrested four are Vincent T Sangma, (20), a resident of Weikutvillage in South West Khasi Hills, Viraj Chungkan R Sangma, (21) and Najim R Sangma, (22), both residents of of Chima Apal village in North Garo Hills district, and London A Sangma, (25) of Bagli village nearBorsora in South West Khasi Hills district.
