GNLA flees dropping carbine, ammunition

Shillong, Oct 9: Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) cadres dropped a carbine along with magazine and ammunition while fleeing after being chased by the South-West Khasi hill police team which launched an operation against them Tuesday evening.

The police received information about suspected GNLA cadres being spotted at Rajaju area in the district. A police team was immediately dispatched to the place and launched an operation against the suspected GNLA cadres.

When suspected GNLA members saw the police team, they took to their heels. But police didn’t open fire fearing that the public who were also there might be caught in the gun battle. The GNLA members however dropped a carbine along with magazine and ammunition while fleeing from the police.
