Goyal assures quality midday meal supplied

goyal-pix-300x2251SHILLONG, AUG 12:  East Khasi Hills deputy commissioner Sanjay Goyal has assured that the food-grain supplied to students in the district under the mid day meal scheme are of standard quality and there has been no complaint so far.

With incidents of adulteration reported from across the country, Goyal informed that the district administration is cautious and ensure that good quality food reaches the students.

Goyal told reporters on Monday that the district administration has taken all steps to ensure that the good quality food reaches the students of different schools in the district.

Goyal also informed that there is no problem with the availability of  food to be supplied under the scheme and the government also has  a lifting in-charge who lifts the food from the Food Corporation of India  He said the district administration at first takes the samples of the food grains and then supplies it  to different schools of the district.

Goyal also asked people to come forward if poor quality food is supplied to the schools. Under the scheme, 100 gram of food is supplied per student of a lower primary school while 150 gram is supplied to an upper primary school student on a single day.

The East Khasi hills district administration has also send written letters to the school managing authorities to maintain all the requirements of foods supplied under the scheme.- By Our Reporter
