Guv stresses on skill development

SHILLONG, JUNE 8: Governor Tathagata Roy on Saturday attended the convocation function of the computer and language trainees of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Shillong.

Addressing on the occasion, Roy while stressing upon skill development urged the youth  to understand both “skill” and “development”.
When asked about his vision for students of Meghalaya his hope is very bright.

In his speech as guest of honor Swami Vedatitananda from Kolkata quoted Vivekananda and urged that “Western science coupled with” Indian ethos should be our “guiding motto”

Later in the afternoon session, NEHU vice chancellor Prof S K Srivastava while addressing the gathering said students are the “ignited minds” of our country.

Swami Nirvikaranandaji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Indore, appealed to students to select a goal in life and work incessantly towards it as wanted by Swami Vivekananda. Success would surely follow then.

During the function the center, distributed about 2178 Certificates to the meritorious students of Computer and Language trainees of the institute who are said to have completed, Scholarship to about 19 students.

5 computers were also given to meritorious students – Aibakordor Syiem being the topper among them.  Others who received the computer gift were Lakpa Tamang,  Luckystone Nongsiej , Diangtilang Marbaniang, and Kyrmenskhem Marwein.

The students who topped the academics were Computer-Beginner: Debraj Nag, Computer-Intermediate: Banteilang Mukhim, Computer Accounting: Rahul Kumar Shah, DTP (Part I): Kyrmenskhem Marwein.

Earlier in his inaugural address, Swami Sarvabhutanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, declared alignment of the course structure of the institute with NSDC. He inspired the students and mentioned listening to successful persons will help them become successful.

Swami Divyaswarupanandaji Maharaj, delivered his concluding speech and words of gratitude to all present and urged the youth to enhance their personality through the services of the institute of the nation.
