SHILLONG, MAR 27: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) passed the vote on account budget of Rs 15.24 crore estimated for three months from April 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.

Chief Executive Member (CEM) Ardent Basaiawmoit, who tabled the vote on account two days ago, said, “This is only vote on account budget passed for three months to meet into the requirements of the council for its smooth functioning.”

“The executive committee will place the regular budget in the next session,” he said.

Earlier, former chief executive member (CEM) Manstudy Nongrem, Jansing Tynsong and Bateidor Lyngdoh submitted their suggestions while participating during the debate on the budget speech.

Basaiawmoit also assured the house all proposals and suggestions submitted by the members will also be examined and will be included in the regular budget subjected to the availability of funds.

Of the Rs 15, 24, 82, 460 estimated budget approved today, Rs 3, 73, 88, 440 was allocated for General Administration Department, Rs 11, 73, 630 – Law Department, Rs 1, 03, 96, 730 – Revenue Budget & Finance Department, Rs 1, 28, 67, 320 – Forest Administration Department, Rs 58, 29, 690 – Administration of Justice & Judicial Department, Rs 72, 26, 400 – Legislative Department, Rs 1, 77, 760 – Education Department, Rs 6, 98, 78, 380 – Civil Works & Development Department and Rs 71, 44, 110 -Enforcement Scheme for protection of Tribal Land & Interest.- By Our Reporter
