SHILLONG, MAY 10:Â Â The Khasi Student Union (KSU) Mawryngkneng Circle today demanded from the state government to set up a Fire Service Station in the region in order to provide services to the people during an emergency.
This demand came after one house in Puriang village was gutted by fire on 9th May and due to lack of fire services people of the area could not control the fire which resulted in injuries of one child.
The KSU urged the state government to set up fire emergency services as the people of the area have already held public hearings to allow setting up of emergency services in the area to prevent such disaster or forest fire in the near future.
