Lyngdoh resigns as EM

SHILLONG, MAR 9: People Democratic Front (PDF) leader Banteidor Lyngdoh has resigned from the post of executive member in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) after being inducted as a cabinet minister in the NPP-led MDA government.

“I have tendered my resignation from the post of EM in the district council which was duly accepted by the KHADC chief PN Syiem,” Lyngdoh, who was made Sports & Youth Affairs minister, told reporters here on Friday.

He said that this would pave way for other members of the district council to take up the responsibility as executive member.

Earlier, Lyngdoh was in-charge of Building, Traditional Medicine, and Professional Tax in the PDF-led executive committee in the KHADC.
