Man arrested after pregnant wife found dead in Mawlai-Mawdabaki

SHILLONG, JUNE 15: A man was arrested on Thursday after his pregnant wife was found dead in their residence at Mawlai Mawdatbaki here.

The deceased was identified as Steffanie L Nonglait. She was staying with her husband, Trophius Nongbri at Mawlai Mawdatbaki Mali-I.

An FIR against Trophius Nongbri was lodged by Amanda L Nonglait, the sister of the deceased at Mawlai Police Station on Thursday.

District police chief Sylvester Nongtnger informed that a case has been registered with the Mawlai police station and Trophius Nongbri, the husband of the deceased, has been arrested. “Investigation is on to ascertain the facts,” he said.
