SHILLONG, NOV 15:The Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills, Tura has informed that the Search Team of the West Garo Hills District Police have arrested a 30 year old man yesterday evening for harassing a woman by using Fake Facebook profile. The accused has been identified as Sontosh Roy, a resident of Dalu, West Garo Hills.
As informed by the Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills, the victim had filed an FIR in Tura Women Police Station on 11th July, 2017 stating that one person named Rahul Singh had befriended her on Facebook and was sending obscene images/videos and messages to her through Facebook messenger. In this connection a case was registered at Tura Women PS and with the assistance of the Cyber Crime Investigation Center, Tura the above mentioned person who had created the Fake Facebook profile was tracked down and subsequently arrested. One mobile phone which was used for creation of the Fake Facebook has been seized by the police and further investigation is currently ensuing.
