SHILLONG, SEPT 3: The South East Khasi Hills District Demand Forum will hold a general meeting at Swami Vivekananda Hall, Rama Krishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Khliehshnong, Sohra at 11 am on September 8.
In a statement issued here on Monday, the forum’s joint secretary John W. Thabah informed that the meeting would discuss the demand for upgradation of Sohra Civil Sub-division into a full-fledged district to cater to developmental need of the area and bring the administration closer to the people.
He said that the MLAs and MDCs of Sohra and Shella constituencies respectively will also attend the meeting.
Meanwhile, the forum also urged all the traditional heads of Sohra and Shella area, youth bodies, women organizations, and sports clubs to attend the meeting.
