Meghalaya records 4 COVID deaths

SHILLONG, NOV 2: The state on Tuesday recorded four more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,456 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 2 cases were reported from East Khasi Hills district and one each from South West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 27 new COVID-19 cases. These include 20 in East Khasi Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 each in East Garo Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 37 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 26 are from East Khasi Hills, 5 Ri Bhoi, 4 East Garo Hills and 1 each in West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 83,712 COVID-19 cases out of which 412 are active cases, 81,844 recovered and 1,456 deaths.

 

East Khas Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 with 275 followed by West Khasi Hills with 56 cases and West Jaintia Hills 26.

 

There are 16 in Ri Bhoi, 12 West Garo Hills, 7 East Garo Hills, 7 South West Khasi Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills, 4 North Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
