SHILLONG, JAN 28: The newly floated Garo militant outfit – Achik Jatna Remikkangipa Kotok- (AJRK)- finance secretary identified as Ramu Sangma was arrested from Santipur under Kamrup district of Assam, police said. The police were tipped off about the presence of militants in the village.
Meghalaya police along with Assam police and the army conducted a joint operation and arrested Ramu Sangma. Police recovered one 9 mm pistol, 3 live ammunition, one notepad, several demand notes, one walkie-talkie, one mobile handset and AJRK seal.
