TURA, MAR 10: The A’chik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF) has warned THE public not to act as police informer or they will be executed. In a chilling threat issued on Tuesday, the outfit has cited the incident of Ambang Jambal village in North Garo hills where one Bretynath Momin was executed by the outfit.
Momin was killed by the militant on March 8 at around 10:30 pm. The outfit’s vice-chairman Kadongchak Matgrik in a press statement said, “Any member of public, who tries to help police in locating our hideout we will execute them”. Matgrik alleged that Momin was responsible for
killing of one of its cadre.
“We appeal to police not to cheat the public for mere Rs 1000-2000 bribe to work for them which will lead to loss of their lives. Without any benefit the villagers instead will lose their life,” Matgrik said. He said if police want to use public they should also ensure their safety.- From Our Correspondent
