MPSC files SLP in SC against HC order

SHILLONG, NOV 17: The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court against the recent order of the Meghalaya High Court to open the sealed report of the CBI.

The High Court in its order of November 15 had fixed today (November 17) to open the sealed report of the CBI probing the alleged manipulation in the recruitment of MPS officers.

During the hearing on Thursday, counsel appearing on behalf of MPSC, S Thapa filed and moved an affidavit and submitted that they have filed an SLP before the Apex Court against the order dated 15-11-2016 passed in WP(C) No. 18/2015.

The CBI SP was also present. The High Court stated that his personal appearance is temporarily dispensed, but he may be called in future as and when required. The court said the hearing on the matter will be taken up after fifteen days.
