Dikkanchi D. Shira behaves like king and queen of Meghalaya, Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma rubbished him saying the BJP leader makes statement just for political effect and compulsion.

In a sideline of a campaign at Hulukhona, near Zikzak in South West Garo Hills, the chief minister said, “He (Kohli) makes such statement because he has a political compulsion”.

Mukul said that Kohli should interact with the person before framing such phrases in describing a person. “He has to be around with me to be able to articulate appropriately what exactly is the person he is referring to. He must have his political compulsions to actually comment on that,” Mukul said in a candid reply to media persons.

On Kohli terming that he was frustrated and nervous, Mukul said, “Why should I be frustrated and angry. I am the chief minister of the state and I have a responsibility and commitment to the people of this state”.

He said that it was responsibility of the Congress party to insulate the people from the vicious agenda of the BJP, so they are all out against them because National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Conrad K. Sangma is an alliance partner of the BJP at the centre.

He also questioned the credentials of Conrad, who had earlier lost election from Selsella constituency. “People of Selsella have understood that he is not able to serve the people, so they voted him out”.

Terming that NPP and their functionaries are trying to create confusion with their false propaganda, he said, “People should understand that our government has worked to bring about holistic development in the state. We are with the people during election to unite and enlighten them”.

Mukul became the first chief minister to visit Hulukhona, along the India – Bangladesh border and the people received him with joy and happiness. He asserted that his government would try its level best to ensure accelerated development in the area.

Reacting to the comment that his government has failed to address development issues, Mukul said, “BJP and NPP should analyse the past and present position of the state in the field of development”.

When asked about the poster jibe of the Congress, which is against the BJP by Kohli, he said, “Every decision the Modi government takes is going to be part of those who is part of the NDA. So it is important to enlighten the people. There is only two candidates in the election, so we choose to inform the electorates about BJP’s agenda”.

Kohli had said that Congress has failed to seek mandate for its candidate in the election poster and had offered a deal to Mukul to withdraw the candidature of its candidate.

Mukul addressed series of public meeting at Salmanpara and Mahendraganj constituencies. In the evening, he addressed an election meeting at Tetengkol locality of Tura.
