Mukul slams MDA govt over teachers’ issue

SHILLONG, JULY 8: Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Friday slammed the MDA government for the distressed situation of teachers.

“CM Conrad Sangma’s move of pacifying SSA teachers by granting them minimal financial raise just ahead of elections exposes the true intention of the MDA government,” he said while addressing a meeting at Kharkutta in North Garo Hills.

The meeting was followed by a massive membership drive.

Other members present at the event were Rinaldo K Sangma, MDC of Rongrong, Alphonsush R Marak, MDC of Williamnagar and Pardinand D Shira, MDC of Damas. The entire AITC leadership encouraged the public to participate in ‘Be The Change’ campaign and extend their support to AITC to help them get rid of the proxy BJP Government in Meghalaya.

Earlier this month, AITC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee kick-started the party’s membership drive in Shillong. Today’s event kick-started the membership drive in the Garo Hills.
