SHILLONG, MAR 1: Eight Independents and two NCP legislators have extended their support to the Congress taking their number to thirty nine legislators in the 60-member Meghalaya assembly.
Three other Independents have also offered their support which the Congress is yet to decide whether to accept it or not.
NCP leader and legislator Sanbor Shullai gave a letter of unconditional support of the party’s support to the Congress Thursday morning. The eight Independent legislators also provided the Congress with their support in writing.
Beside Shullai and his party legislator Mathon Sangma, Independent legislators Hopeful Bamon, Justine Dkhar, David Nongrum, Julius Dorphang, Lamboklang Mylliemngap, Robinus Syngkhon and Stephenson Mukhim.
Shullai might be rewarded with the post of the Assembly deputy speaker again for his unconditional support to the Congress party.- By Our Reporter
