Newly elected MDCs take oath in KHADC

SHILLONG, MAR 6: The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) was held in the city here on Wednesday.

The oath of office to all the 29 members was administered by the East Khasi Hills District Deputy Commissioner Matsiewdor W Nongbri.

While Pyniaid Sing Syiem who was reelected from Sohryngkham and Teiborlang Pathaw from Mawlai took their oath in Khasi, the other members however took their oath in English.

Martle N. Mukhim, from Mawkynrew constituency, is the senior most and oldest member, while Bajop Pyngrope from Rambrai-Jyrngam constituency is the youngest member of the Council.

Two MLAs, Lambor Malngiang and Gigur Myrthong were also elected as members of the Council from Nongkrem and Mawshynrut constituency respectively.
