Phantom escapes from jail

SHILLONG, MAR 6: An under trial prisoner (UTP) identified as ‘Phantom’ today escaped from the Deputy Commissioner’s office of East Khasi Hills District.

According to sources, Phantom whose original name is David Lyngdoh was brought from the Shillong District Jail to the DC’s office for production before the Court for hearing.
However, when he managed to escape from the ventilator of one of the toilets, they said. Sources said that Phantom had also locked the door of the toilet from inside before executing his plan.
Phantom was arrested on August 26, 2014 for his involvement in several theft and burglary cases besides molesting women when he entered the victim houses.
